A collection of miniature sculptures and trinket boxes made of my own recipe Self-forming and Volcanic Porcelain recipes.
As a sequel to my last project Paros Mons, the work is inspired by the technical ceramic materials we continue to develop within the space exploration industry. Particularly telescopes currently monitoring Volcanic activity across our solar system, and closer to home.
This time using cobalt oxide to create vivid ultramarine and peppered cornflour blues. A tribute to the Kawah Ijen 'Blue Volcano'. Home to the largest sulphuric acid lake in the world, producing bright blue lava flames after dark.
The surface qualities are extremely varied in this collection, with high-shine gloss, and matt sponge-like textures.
